ALLY APP – PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how Meridian Fitness Group Pte. Ltd. (“Ally”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operating ALLY Singapore collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data when you use the Ally mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Ally App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

Depending on how you use the Ally App, we may collect the following categories of personal data:

a. Account & Membership Information

  • Name, email address, mobile number
  • Date of birth, gender (optional)
  • Profile photo
  • Membership status, bookings, attendance history

b. Identification Photographs

We collect a photographic image of members for the purposes of identity verification, fraud prevention, account integrity, and access control.
These photographs are taken at the studio during onboarding and stored securely in our authorised systems and/or cloud infrastructure providers.
Photographs are used solely for manual visual verification and internal account management. They are not used for automated facial recognition or profiling.
Any third-party providers processing this data on our behalf are required to maintain a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA.

c. Social Interaction Data

When you use community or social features within the Ally App, we may collect:

  • Group chat messages
  • Direct messages between users
  • Friend requests, connections, and removals
  • Content you voluntarily choose to share

d. Interaction Metadata

For operational and security purposes, we may collect:

  • Message timestamps
  • Sender and recipient identifiers
  • Delivery and read indicators
  • Logs relating to social interactions and friend activity

e. Communications & Notifications

  • In-app messages and notifications
  • Push notifications triggered by system or social activity
  • Feedback, support requests, and survey responses

f. Technical & Usage Data

  • Device type, operating system, app version
  • IP address and log files
  • Usage analytics and crash reports

 

2. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We collect and use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your Ally account and membership
  • To enable social chat functions, including group chats, direct messages, and friend features
  • To deliver in-app and push notifications arising from social interactions
  • To operate, maintain, and improve app functionality and user experience
  • To ensure platform safety, integrity, and misuse prevention
  • To communicate operational updates, class changes, and service notices
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations

 

3. USER-GENERATED CONTENT & RESPONSIBILITY

Any content you send, post, or share through the Ally App’s social features is user-generated content.
You acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for the content you choose to share
  • Ally does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of user-generated content
  • Ally is not responsible for interactions or disputes between users

Use of social features is at your own discretion and risk.

 

4. MONITORING, SAFETY & ENFORCEMENT

Ally does not actively monitor private messages.
However, Ally reserves the right (but has no obligation) to:

  • Review, remove, restrict, or disable access to content or features
  • Investigate activity that may breach applicable laws, platform rules, or community standards
  • Suspend or terminate access to social features or accounts where necessary

These actions may be taken to protect users, maintain platform integrity, or comply with legal requirements.

 

5. NOTIFICATIONS

By enabling notifications, you consent to receiving:

  • Chat and message alerts
  • Friend activity notifications
  • Community and system updates

Notification delivery may be affected by device settings, operating system limitations, or third-party service availability. Ally does not guarantee uninterrupted or real-time notification delivery.

You may manage notification preferences through your device or app settings.

 

6. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We may disclose personal data, including Social Interaction Data, to:

  • Third-party service providers supporting app operations
  • Professional advisers and technical partners
  • Government authorities or regulators where required by law
  • Parties necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Ally or its users

All disclosures are limited to what is reasonably necessary.

 

7. DATA SECURITY

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

You acknowledge that no digital platform can be guaranteed to be fully secure.

 

8. DATA RETENTION

Personal data and Social Interaction Data are retained only for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Services
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Resolve disputes and enforce policies

 

9. CONSENT & SERVICE AVAILABILITY

Use of the Ally App and its services is conditional upon your acceptance of this Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to the collection, use, or disclosure of personal data as described in this Policy, we may be unable to provide you with access to some or all features of the Ally App, including account, booking, and social functions.

 

10. YOUR RIGHTS

Subject to applicable laws, you may submit a request to access or correct personal data held by Ally.
To protect the security and integrity of our platform, Ally reserves the right to:

  • Verify your identity before processing any request
  • Decline or limit requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, repetitive, or abusive
  • Decline or limit requests that may compromise the privacy, safety, or rights of other users
  • Withhold or redact information where disclosure would:
    • Reveal personal data of other individuals
    • Expose system, security, or fraud-prevention mechanisms
    • Conflict with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations

Where permitted by law, Ally may retain personal data:

  • To comply with legal or regulatory requirements
  • To resolve disputes or enforce our policies
  • For security, audit, risk-management, or internal governance purposes

Requests to delete accounts or withdraw consent may result in the loss of access to some or all Services. Certain data may continue to be retained where required or permitted by law.

All requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis and handled within a reasonable timeframe.

Ally is not required to respond to requests that would require disproportionate technical effort or materially disrupt service operations.

 

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the Ally App or on our website. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
